Fusion Surfaces completed a door wrapping project in Milton Keynes at the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre, upgrading 12 doors and 3 TV stands in training rooms as part of a wider refurbishment. Delivered at the end of March 2026, the project introduced a cleaner, more coordinated finish while keeping disruption to a minimum in a live building.
Project Overview
Fusion Surfaces was asked to carry out a door wrapping and training room refurbishment project at the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes.
The works formed part of a wider refurbishment and focused on upgrading 12 internal doors and 3 TV stands within training rooms, using architectural film. The existing finishes felt dated and no longer matched the updated interior scheme the client was working towards, so the aim was to create a more cohesive look across the space without replacing the existing elements.
To achieve the requested colour, the client provided a RAL reference and we sourced the closest match in the Cover Styl’ range, selecting M6 to give the doors and TV stands a consistent light blue finish.
Goals and Site Constraints
The main goal of the project was to refresh selected interior elements so they aligned with the wider refurbishment scheme and created a cleaner, more modern training environment.
Although the building remained live during the works, the rooms were empty while the doors and TV stands were being wrapped, which helped the installation run more smoothly. Even so, the project still needed to be completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to the wider centre.
The main challenge came from the TV stands. These were not just simple backboards. They were also the actual stands holding the TVs in place, and they were bolted into the floor, so the wrapping had to be completed carefully in situ rather than on removable components.
Scope of Refurbishment
This project included the wrapping of:
- 12 internal doors
- 3 TV stands in training rooms
All elements were finished in a light blue colour to tie them into the wider refurbishment scheme and create a more consistent appearance across the learning environment.
The finish used was Cover Styl’ M6, selected as the closest match to the client’s requested RAL colour.
Delivery Process
The project was completed by 1 installer over 2 days.
The doors were relatively straightforward, but the TV stands required a more detailed approach because they were fixed in place and formed part of the structure supporting the screens. Rather than wrapping a simple flat panel, the installation had to work around the full stand while maintaining a clean and durable finish.
Because the rooms were empty during the works, the installation could be carried out efficiently without affecting activity inside the training spaces. Careful preparation and a methodical approach ensured the project stayed on programme and achieved a consistent result across all elements.
Results and Measurable Outcomes
The completed project created a much more coordinated finish within the training spaces.
By wrapping the 12 doors and 3 TV stands in the same light blue finish, the refurbishment helped bring these elements into line with the wider interior scheme. The project was completed on time, with minimal disruption, and avoided the cost and inconvenience of replacing otherwise serviceable items.
The project delivered several clear benefits:
- 12 doors upgraded in place
- 3 fixed TV stands wrapped to match
- requested colour matched as closely as possible using Cover Styl’ M6
- completed by 1 installer in 2 days
- minimal disruption within a live building
- existing items retained rather than replaced
Since the project was completed, Fusion Surfaces has already been asked to return to carry out further works within the centre, which is a strong indication of client satisfaction with both the finish and the delivery.
Before and After Gallery
This project photographs show the transformation from dated interior doors and training room fixtures to a cleaner, more coordinated light blue finish. The before and after images highlight the impact that door wrapping can have in a commercial learning environment, particularly where existing elements are structurally sound but no longer reflect the quality or style of the surrounding scheme.
Client Feedback
Our client was happy with the finished result and the impact it had on the overall environment:
