Project Overview
Fusion Surfaces was appointed by Cubic Works to complete an office interior door refurbishment as part of a wider office upgrade in Manchester.
The existing doors and architraves required modernising to better suit the updated interior concept, while the glazed office partitions also needed a privacy solution that would maintain light flow throughout the workspace.
Rather than replacing the doors and joinery, the refurbishment focused on upgrading the existing surfaces in place using architectural vinyl wrapping. At the same time, reeded glass film was applied to the glazing to introduce a more contemporary look and a greater sense of privacy across the office.
Goals and Site Constraints
The project needed to deliver a clear visual upgrade while fitting efficiently into Cubic Works’ wider refurbishment schedule.
A key goal was to improve the appearance of the doors, architraves and glazed partitions without the disruption, cost and waste associated with replacing existing joinery and glass. The client also wanted the new finishes to feel cohesive across the space, rather than treating the doors and glazing as separate elements.
Because the work was being delivered alongside other trades, the installation had to be carefully coordinated so it could progress efficiently without interrupting the wider fit-out programme.
Scope of Refurbishment
This office refurbishment project included:
- 17 internal doors upgraded using commercial vinyl wrapping
- wrapping of the surrounding architraves
- application of reeded glass film to glazed office partitions
- coordination with a wider office refurbishment programme already underway
The wrapped doors and architraves introduced a consistent, contemporary finish throughout the workspace, while the reeded glass film provided additional privacy without blocking natural light.
Delivery Process
Working within Cubic Works’ refurbishment programme, Fusion Surfaces coordinated the installation alongside other trades on site.
Each door was carefully prepared before wrapping to ensure a durable, high-quality finish. The surrounding architraves were wrapped with precision to maintain clean detailing across corridors and office entrances. At the same time, the reeded glass film was installed evenly across the glazed partitions to create a consistent appearance throughout the office.
By coordinating closely with the wider project schedule, the refurbishment progressed efficiently without disrupting the broader fit-out works.
Results and Measurable Outcomes
Following completion, the doors, architraves and glazed partitions presented a far more cohesive and refined appearance.
Previously dated finishes were replaced with modern surfaces that supported the updated interior design, while the reeded glass film introduced a stylish privacy solution that enhanced both function and aesthetics across the workspace.
The project delivered several clear benefits:
- 17 doors upgraded without removal
- seamless architrave detailing throughout the office
- improved privacy through reeded glass film
- reduced cost compared with replacing joinery
- efficient integration into a wider refurbishment programme
The project also reinforced Fusion Surfaces’ ongoing relationship with Cubic Works, demonstrating repeat delivery within premium office environments.
