The Brief
Premier Inn, the UK’s largest hotel chain, required a practical solution to refresh bathroom sinks as part of ongoing refurbishment works within several of their hotels. The existing sinks, installed by previous owners, featured colours that no longer matched the updated room designs. Replacing hundreds of sinks across multiple hotels would have created major disruption, increased costs and extended room downtime. Instead, the hotel group explored hotel bathroom sink refurbishment as a faster and more efficient alternative. Fusion Surfaces carried out the works across two Premier Inn locations, including Middlesbrough and London, upgrading hundreds of bathroom sinks while keeping rooms operational.
The Solution
Architectural vinyl wrapping provided a simple way to transform the appearance of the sinks without replacing them.
Working closely with the Premier Inn team, we sourced suitable finishes from the LX Hausys range. A marble-effect vinyl was selected to complement the updated room interiors while delivering a durable and easy-to-maintain surface.
Because the sinks remained in place, the refurbishment avoided unnecessary plumbing work and reduced overall project costs.
The Process
With hundreds of sinks to complete, careful planning was essential.
The project moved forward in phases of approximately 30 sinks at a time, allowing rooms to return to service quickly. Each sink required the removal of existing silicone, careful preparation of the surface and precise application of the architectural film before resealing.
Each experienced installer completed each sink in around one hour. As a result, rooms stayed out of use for only a short period while refurbishment progressed steadily throughout the hotels.
The Transformation
Refreshed Hotel Bathrooms
Once completed, the change was immediately noticeable.
The marble-effect finish replaced the outdated coloured sinks and brought the bathrooms into line with the newly refurbished rooms. Instead of clashing with the interior design, the updated sinks now form part of a cohesive and modern bathroom environment.
Importantly, the hotel bathroom sink refurbishment delivered the appearance of brand-new fixtures without replacing any plumbing or major fittings.

Client Advantages
The project delivered several clear benefits for Premier Inn:
Hundreds of sinks upgraded across multiple hotels
Approximately one hour of downtime per room
Significant cost savings compared with sink replacement
Minimal disruption to hotel operations
Durable finishes suitable for hospitality environments
Furthermore, vinyl wrapping allowed the hotel to modernise its bathrooms efficiently while keeping refurbishment programmes on schedule.
Conclusion
The Premier Inn project shows how hotel bathroom sink refurbishment can modernise hospitality interiors quickly and cost-effectively.
By combining careful preparation with high-quality architectural film, Fusion Surfaces transformed hundreds of sinks across multiple hotels while keeping rooms operational. The result is a refreshed and consistent bathroom design achieved without the disruption of full replacement works.
