Luxury Spa Interior Refurbishment
The Brief
Woodland Spa in Burnley, part of Crow Wood Leisure, recently completed a £16 million expansion designed to enhance its already award-winning facilities. Alongside the major development works, management required a targeted luxury spa interior refurbishment to upgrade lift surrounds, vanity units and IPS panels without interrupting guest experience. The challenge was clear. The finishes needed to reflect the spa’s new modern aesthetic while keeping downtime to an absolute minimum. Lifts, in particular, could not be fully closed without affecting daily operations.
The Solution
Rather than replacing existing structures, Fusion Surfaces proposed refurbishing them in situ using architectural vinyl wrapping.
Following a detailed site survey, we worked closely with the Crow Wood Leisure team to plan each phase carefully. Lift surrounds were first boarded with MDF to create a stable foundation before being wrapped in a premium architectural film finish. Meanwhile, vanity units and IPS panels were wrapped to align with the spa’s refreshed interior scheme.
The selected finishes introduced texture and warmth while maintaining the clean, high-end feel expected in a luxury environment.
The Process
Precision and timing were critical. Therefore, works were scheduled to ensure that lift access remained available throughout the refurbishment.
One experienced installer completed the project over two days. Careful preparation ensured the film adhered correctly and delivered a long-lasting finish. At the same time, coordination with on-site teams allowed the spa to continue operating without interruption.
Because the upgrade took place within a live environment, guests experienced no visible disruption. The transformation appeared seamless.
The Transformation
Luxury Spa Interior Refurbishment Using Architectural Film
The updated lift surrounds, vanity units and IPS panels now sit comfortably within the spa’s newly expanded setting.
Stainless steel and plain finishes were replaced with textured surfaces that feel considered and cohesive. Importantly, the luxury spa interior refurbishment delivered a noticeable improvement without the complexity of structural alterations.
To guests, the new finishes appear purpose-built. The speed and efficiency behind the process remain invisible.

Client Advantages
The project delivered tangible benefits:
Two-day installation programme
No full lift closures required
Seamless coordination within a £16m expansion
Significant cost savings compared with replacement
Durable finishes suitable for high-end hospitality environments
Furthermore, by refurbishing existing assets rather than replacing them, the spa reduced waste and avoided unnecessary downtime.
Conclusion
The Woodland Spa project demonstrates how luxury spa interior refurbishment can integrate smoothly within large-scale hospitality developments.
Through careful planning, precise installation and high-quality materials, Fusion Surfaces enhanced key interior features without disrupting daily operations. The result is a refined and cohesive environment that complements the spa’s investment while maintaining the flow of guest experience.
