Sports Stadium Interior Refurbishment

The Brief

Fusion Surfaces partnered with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to deliver a sports stadium interior refurbishment within one of Europe’s most advanced multi-use venues.

Although the stadium opened in 2019, constant use from Premier League fixtures, NFL games, concerts, boxing and major events placed significant strain on furniture and internal finishes. As a result, 270 tables and 58 doors required refurbishment to maintain the premium standards expected throughout the venue. Rather than replacing large volumes of furniture, Tottenham Hotspur sought a fast and sustainable solution that could integrate seamlessly with their demanding event schedule.

The Solution

Following a detailed site assessment, Fusion Surfaces worked closely with the club’s facilities team to select suitable finishes from LX Hausys architectural film and Metamark’s MiA interior range.

These materials offered the durability required for high-traffic environments while maintaining visual consistency across hospitality and circulation spaces. Sample finishes were reviewed and approved to match the stadium’s established palette of dark woods, neutral tones and branded colour schemes.

By refurbishing existing assets rather than replacing them, the project reduced cost, waste and programme risk.

The Process

Working around an intensive live events calendar required careful planning. Therefore, Fusion Surfaces deployed an eight-person installation team to complete works within a tightly controlled two-day programme.

Installers wrapped 270 tables, many featuring curved edges that required detailed preparation. Surfaces were filled, sanded and levelled before film application to achieve a flawless finish. Meanwhile, the team refurbished 58 doors, including units with vision panels and electronic access systems.

All works progressed alongside stadium operations with minimal disruption. The successful delivery established an ongoing relationship, with Fusion Surfaces returning periodically to update doors, window film, desks and tables as part of the venue’s continuous improvement programme.

The Transformation

Following completion, previously worn furniture and doors presented a refreshed, high-quality appearance consistent with Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s premium environment.

Tables regained the look of newly installed furniture, while doors received durable finishes resistant to ongoing heavy use. Importantly, the sports stadium interior refurbishment preserved the original assets while elevating overall visual standards throughout the venue.

Guests, staff and event organisers now experience interiors that reflect the world-class nature of the stadium.

Co-Founder

Older than the rest of the team, but not necessarily wiser as she’d like to think. There’s not an activity under the sun that she’s not been willing to have a go at, resulting in a mediocre ukulele player, part-time blogger, one-time skydiver and an unfinished sitcom script. There’s no room for shades of grey in this half of the partnership; everything comes down to looking after people who are important.

Organising tradesmen is not a task for the fainthearted. But recruiting the right tradesmen, ones who align with our values and are highly skilled at what they do makes for a much more harmonious project management process. Rosie’s role begins with a meeting to discuss your requirements, providing you with a quotation and carries through to the on-site management of your project.

Jade Mitchell

Co-Founder

She’s the only Southerner on the team, but we try not to hold it against her too much. If anything, we’ve enjoyed introducing Jade to a vast number of pie shops now she’s a Northern resident. Standing at a phenomenal 5’2”, she is living proof that big things come in small packages; a mix of infectious enthusiasm, laughter, loyalty, authority and uncanny Theresa May impressions.

Communicating with our clients is Jade’s forte. Being highly organised and placing customer satisfaction at the forefront of everything she does means that from enquiry to completion, your queries will be dealt with efficiently. For an in depth knowledge of the material specification of our interior film, Jade is your woman. She will put your mind at rest that not only do we install this product, but we make sure that is the most suitable for your needs.
