The Manchester College

The Brief
As a returning client, Manchester College specified Fusion Surfaces to carry out the vinyl wrapping element of a large-scale refurbishment at their Nicholls Campus. The toilet blocks in question were outdated – pink, 1990s-style fittings -and needed to visually match the newer bathrooms being installed elsewhere on site.
While some of the other blocks were deemed unsuitable for wrapping, these particular areas were structurally sound, making them ideal candidates for a fast, high-impact transformation.

The Solution
We carried out a full site survey to assess surface condition and advise on suitable finishes. A curated selection of samples was sent to the client, who selected two from the Metamark MiA range – a stone effect and a woodgrain – chosen to complement the new cubicle installations.
Our scope also included removing and reinstating the sinks, and re-siliconing to provide a clean, finished look.
The Process
Working to the main contractor’s programme, we assembled an experienced install team and scheduled the job for efficient delivery across three toilet blocks. Over the course of just four days, we wrapped:
• Cubicles
• IPS panels
• Boxing in
• Vanity units
• Access panels and doors
All works were completed within live site constraints and integrated smoothly alongside other trades.
The Transformation
The result was a complete visual shift: from tired pink laminates to a modern, cohesive look that tied in with the newly installed bathrooms. The stone and wood finishes provided warmth and contrast, delivering a premium appearance without the cost or disruption of replacement.
