The Brief

FI Real Estate, a leading player in the property sector hailing from our hometown of Chorley, tasked the team at Fusion with upgrading the bathrooms at one of their owned offices in Durham. As part of a larger renovation effort, the goal was to completely transform four dated bathrooms, aligning them with the modern feel of the rest of the office building.

The Consultation

Having collaborated on multiple projects up to now, our relationship with FI Real Estate has always been seamless. For this project, they selected one of the newest designs from the LX Hausys range. Their in-house design team, known for their exceptional colour-matching skills, played a pivotal role in choosing the perfect designs for the renovation.

The Process

The logistics of this project were managed efficiently, thanks to FI Real Estate’s preparation work. Upon arrival, we were met with four bathrooms that had been completely dismantled, ready for us to get straight to work. Our team adopted a conveyor belt approach: prepping, cutting, and wrapping in a systematic fashion. We positioned two installers on IPS panels straight away, as this was not as straightforward as square edges. Either side was curved, meaning that we had to use a combination of heat and cutting techniques to give the best finish. Despite the complexity of the IPS panels, with a total of 72 in the women’s bathrooms and 80 in the men’s, our expert team managed to handle the intricate corners and shapes. The doors and cubicle dividers, by comparison, were more straightforward, although time-consuming as they cannot be lifted by one person on their own.

The Transformation

The transformation of the bathrooms was nothing short of amazing. The dated light grey palette was replaced by a modern, sleek look that even other trades on site who had been sceptical of vinyl wrapping were impressed by. The choice of a marble effect for vanity units, a mushroom shade for doors and pelmets, and a washed oak effect for the cubicle system and IPS panels, brought a trendy yet timeless elegance to the space.

The Outcome

FI Real Estate’s visit towards the project’s completion confirmed their satisfaction with our work. The transformed bathrooms now echo the building’s revamped look, ready to impress potential tenants with their modern facilities.

Older than the rest of the team, but not necessarily wiser as she’d like to think. There’s not an activity under the sun that she’s not been willing to have a go at, resulting in a mediocre ukulele player, part-time blogger, one-time skydiver and an unfinished sitcom script. There’s no room for shades of grey in this half of the partnership; everything comes down to looking after people who are important.

Organising tradesmen is not a task for the fainthearted. But recruiting the right tradesmen, ones who align with our values and are highly skilled at what they do makes for a much more harmonious project management process. Rosie’s role begins with a meeting to discuss your requirements, providing you with a quotation and carries through to the on-site management of your project.

Jade Mitchell

Co-Founder

She’s the only Southerner on the team, but we try not to hold it against her too much. If anything, we’ve enjoyed introducing Jade to a vast number of pie shops now she’s a Northern resident. Standing at a phenomenal 5’2”, she is living proof that big things come in small packages; a mix of infectious enthusiasm, laughter, loyalty, authority and uncanny Theresa May impressions.

Communicating with our clients is Jade’s forte. Being highly organised and placing customer satisfaction at the forefront of everything she does means that from enquiry to completion, your queries will be dealt with efficiently.
