Multi-Floor Office Door Refurbishment
The Brief
Fusion Surfaces was appointed to deliver a multi-floor office door refurbishment at Atria, Bolton.
The project involved wrapping 56 doors across three floors, including vision panel doors, plain corridor doors and washroom cubicle doors. In addition, the client requested vinyl finishes to IPS panels and the undersides of vanity units in four bathrooms. The objective was clear: modernise the building’s interior quickly and cleanly while maintaining day-to-day operations.
The Solution
Fusion Surfaces refurbished the existing doors and panels using architectural vinyl wrapping rather than replacement.
Two premium finishes were selected to suit different areas of the building. Corridor doors were wrapped in a warm neutral beige from the LX Hausys Benif range. This provided a refined alternative to flat paint. Meanwhile, bathroom cubicle doors and IPS panels were finished in a light oak from Metamark’s MiA collection, introducing warmth and texture.
Because the doors were already in good condition, preparation remained minimal. This allowed the team to focus on delivering a consistent and high-quality finish throughout.
The Process
Works took place within a live and operational building. Therefore, coordination and timing were essential.
Corridor doors were wrapped within a few hours each, allowing the building to remain in use throughout the process. Bathrooms required only one day of downtime per space, ensuring a fast turnaround without full closures.
Installers prepared each surface carefully before application to ensure durability and precision detailing. Following installation, new locks were fitted to complete the project to a professional standard.
Consequently, the refurbishment progressed smoothly across all three floors without major disruption.
The Transformation
A Consistent and Modern Finish
Following completion, the building presented a more cohesive and contemporary appearance.
Previously flat corridor doors were replaced with a warmer and more refined finish. In the washrooms, the oak-effect wrap introduced a cleaner and more inviting look while complementing the updated interior palette.
The multi-floor office door refurbishment achieved a noticeable improvement across all areas without the cost or disruption associated with replacing joinery.
