Bolton Wanderers Football Club wanted to refresh several hospitality areas inside the Toughsheet Community Stadium, including the executive boxes, bar areas and reception pods within the Bolton Whites Hotel. Over time, these spaces had started to show signs of wear. Boardroom tables in the executive suites looked dated, while the bar counters and shelving units had previously been wrapped using lower-grade materials that were now deteriorating. The club’s estates team wanted a solution that could modernise these areas quickly while maintaining the stadium’s busy events schedule.
After reviewing the spaces during a site visit, our team recommended finishes from the LX Hausys Benif architectural film range.
Samples were provided to the estates team and senior management so they could confirm the materials aligned with the stadium’s interior design plans.
Architectural vinyl wrapping allowed the club to refurbish the existing furniture and surfaces without replacing them. This approach reduced disruption and ensured the upgraded finishes would remain durable in high-traffic hospitality areas.
Work had to fit around the stadium’s events calendar. Although the football season had ended, the summer months remained busy with conferences and hospitality bookings.
To accommodate this schedule, the installation took place in phases over several weeks. Our installers worked during evenings to complete sections of the refurbishment while allowing the hospitality areas to remain operational.
Preparation played a key role in achieving the final finish. The team carefully sanded the existing surfaces and used heat-forming techniques to wrap the curved edges of the boardroom tables.
At the Bolton Whites Hotel, we scheduled the reception pod works around the hotel’s daily operations so guests and staff experienced minimal disruption.
Each hospitality suite received a distinct new look.
The Platinum and Macron Suites now feature a bold black marble finish that replaces the previous worn wood surfaces. In contrast, the Lion of Vienna Suite uses dual concrete effects to create a more industrial design that complements the room’s overall style.
The reception pods within the Bolton Whites Hotel were also refreshed to match the hotel’s modern interior.
Through stadium hospitality refurbishment, the club achieved a more cohesive and contemporary appearance across its hospitality spaces.
The refurbishment delivered several key benefits for Bolton Wanderers Football Club:
Executive box tables and bar areas upgraded without replacement
Reception pods refurbished within the Bolton Whites Hotel
Installation scheduled around the stadium’s event programme
Durable finishes suitable for high-traffic hospitality environments
Existing furniture retained rather than sent to landfill
This project highlights how stadium hospitality refurbishment can transform key commercial areas within sports venues.
By using architectural vinyl wrapping, Fusion Surfaces upgraded executive suites, bar areas and hotel reception pods while allowing the stadium to continue hosting events. The result is a modern hospitality environment that enhances the experience for corporate guests and visitors alike.
Older than the rest of the team, but not necessarily wiser as she’d like to think. There’s not an activity under the sun that she’s not been willing to have a go at, resulting in a mediocre ukulele player, part-time blogger, one-time skydiver and an unfinished sitcom script. There’s no room for shades of grey in this half of the partnership; everything comes down to looking after people who are important.
Organising tradesmen is not a task for the fainthearted. But recruiting the right tradesmen, ones who align with our values and are highly skilled at what they do makes for a much more harmonious project management process. Rosie’s role begins with a meeting to discuss your requirements, providing you with a quotation and carries through to the on-site management of your project.
She’s the only Southerner on the team, but we try not to hold it against her too much. If anything, we’ve enjoyed introducing Jade to a vast number of pie shops now she’s a Northern resident. Standing at a phenomenal 5’2”, she is living proof that big things come in small packages; a mix of infectious enthusiasm, laughter, loyalty, authority and uncanny Theresa May impressions.
Communicating with our clients is Jade’s forte. Being highly organised and placing customer satisfaction at the forefront of everything she does means that from enquiry to completion, your queries will be dealt with efficiently. For an in depth knowledge of the material specification of our interior film, Jade is your woman. She will put your mind at rest that not only do we install this product, but we make sure that is the most suitable for your needs.
