FI Real Estate – Chesterfield

The Brief

Having completed several projects for FI Real Estate, we partnered with their team again to refurbish 4 floors of lift doors, reveals and interiors as part of their wider fit-out on a large office block in Chesterfield. The goal was to enhance the building’s appeal for their newly tenanted offices, using fire-rated materials to ensure the highest safety standards.

The Consultation

Our collaboration with FI Real Estate’s in-house team involved them selecting modern designs from our latest LX Hausys sample book. With tenants ready to move in in the new year, we worked towards the deadline as per FI’s programme. This was provided to us well in advance and so we were able to coordinate installation alongside their other works.

Building on the success of a previous project in an adjacent building, we approached this second phase with added insight and preparation. This included dismantling specific items like handrails for the best finish, informed by our prior experience.

The Process

Our single installer worked efficiently to manage the complexities of the job, from the skilled cutting around mirrors and screens to ensuring one lift remained operational at all times. This coordination minimised disruption and allowed other trades to continue their work without any problems, leaving the site fully operational throughout.

The Transformation

The transformation of the lifts post-vinyl wrapping was striking. They shifted from plain stainless steel to a bold wood effect, a choice that distinguished the building with a sophisticated touch. The precise wrapping around lift screens and the panelling inside, especially around the large mirror, demonstrated our attention to detail.

The Outcome

The refurbished lifts were a hit with FI Real Estate, aligning perfectly with the overall aesthetic of the office real estate. The fresh, inviting look of the lifts now complements the building, enhancing its appeal and selling power to prospective tenants.

Older than the rest of the team, but not necessarily wiser as she’d like to think. There’s not an activity under the sun that she’s not been willing to have a go at, resulting in a mediocre ukulele player, part-time blogger, one-time skydiver and an unfinished sitcom script. There’s no room for shades of grey in this half of the partnership; everything comes down to looking after people who are important.

Organising tradesmen is not a task for the fainthearted. But recruiting the right tradesmen, ones who align with our values and are highly skilled at what they do makes for a much more harmonious project management process. Rosie’s role begins with a meeting to discuss your requirements, providing you with a quotation and carries through to the on-site management of your project.

Jade Mitchell

Co-Founder

She’s the only Southerner on the team, but we try not to hold it against her too much. If anything, we’ve enjoyed introducing Jade to a vast number of pie shops now she’s a Northern resident. Standing at a phenomenal 5’2”, she is living proof that big things come in small packages; a mix of infectious enthusiasm, laughter, loyalty, authority and uncanny Theresa May impressions.

Communicating with our clients is Jade’s forte. Being highly organised and placing customer satisfaction at the forefront of everything she does means that from enquiry to completion, your queries will be dealt with efficiently.
