Why Vinyl-Wrap A Hotel Door?

Hotel door transformed with premium vinyl wrapping by Fusion Surfaces – a durable, stylish, and cost-effective solution for a refreshed look

Replacing Doors For A Fresh Look

If you’re wondering why vinyl wrap a hotel door instead of replacing it, the answer is simple—cost, efficiency, and sustainability.

Replacing a door that is past its best is a sure-fire way to liven up any hotel, large or small. A new door brings a vibrancy and a freshness to a hotel room or a corridor that guests immediately notice.

OK, but that’s just one door. What if you have 200 or more to replace? Is it financially viable to buy in so many new doors, especially when you’re throwing away the same amount simply for cosmetic reasons?

A Cost-Effective Alternative: Vinyl Wrapping

A much better and increasingly popular solution is to wrap the existing doors in architectural film. Many, if not most doors haven’t anything wrong with them structurally – they just don’t look their best. So it makes sense that rather than sending them to landfill, they’re given a brand new look with a vinyl wrap.

The Runnymede Hotel Transformation

This was the scenario at the Runnymede Hotel, on the banks of the Thames not far from Windsor. Our brief was to wrap 200 guest room and corridor doors – a significant undertaking, not least because the hotel would remain open to guests!

We consulted the client extensively on appropriate interior film materials and colour schemes, and before the wrapping process our joinery team expertly removed all door hardware, ensuring a seamless process. We then precision-wrapped each door using techniques that guarantee a flawless, high-quality finish.

We’ve delivered on many such projects, using architectural film that we can source in a huge variety of styles and colours. In fact, this material looks so good it’s often hard to believe that we haven’t just fitted a new door.

Our vinyl wraps are eco-friendly, being heavy metal free and using 100% phthalate-free plasticisers, so for businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint, they’re the perfect choice.

Why Choose Architectural Film For Hotel Doors?

In busy, customer-facing environments like hotels, spas and leisure facilities, time and minimal disruption are of the essence. Imagine having to completely replace a large number of doors while guests and customers are using the facilities. Vinyl wrapping is a far less invasive way of freshening up a space, and can be done with very little mess and a lot less fuss.

Minimal Disruption, Maximum Impact

Within the hotel sector, maintaining a contemporary and refreshed décor is crucial. Research shows that 95% of guests prioritise securing the best possible value before confirming their bookings. Hotel vinyl wrapping is a simple but highly effective way of creating a welcoming and luxurious feel all year round.

A vinyl wrap solution is a less expensive, less wasteful option and it will transform and revitalise a space in a much cleaner and more efficient way than a full door replacement ever can.

Rosie Christie

Co-Founder

Older than the rest of the team, but not necessarily wiser as she’d like to think. There’s not an activity under the sun that she’s not been willing to have a go at, resulting in a mediocre ukulele player, part-time blogger, one-time skydiver and an unfinished sitcom script. There’s no room for shades of grey in this half of the partnership; everything comes down to looking after people who are important.

Organising tradesmen is not a task for the fainthearted. But recruiting the right tradesmen, ones who align with our values and are highly skilled at what they do makes for a much more harmonious project management process. Rosie’s role begins with a meeting to discuss your requirements, providing you with a quotation and carries through to the on-site management of your project.

Jade Mitchell

Co-Founder

She’s the only Southerner on the team, but we try not to hold it against her too much. If anything, we’ve enjoyed introducing Jade to a vast number of pie shops now she’s a Northern resident. Standing at a phenomenal 5’2”, she is living proof that big things come in small packages; a mix of infectious enthusiasm, laughter, loyalty, authority and uncanny Theresa May impressions.

Communicating with our clients is Jade’s forte. Being highly organised and placing customer satisfaction at the forefront of everything she does means that from enquiry to completion, your queries will be dealt with efficiently. For an in depth knowledge of the material specification of our interior film, Jade is your woman. She will put your mind at rest that not only do we install this product, but we make sure that is the most suitable for your needs.
