Discover which surfaces can be vinyl wrapped for commercial interiors, including walls, doors and furniture, and learn why expert installation from Fusion Surfaces ensures the best results.
If you’re planning a commercial refurbishment, you’ll probably think that replacing furniture, doors or entire fittings is the only way to achieve a fresh, updated look. However, what if the solution did not involve removing anything at all? What if you could completely transform your space by working with the surfaces you already have?
At Fusion Surfaces, we help businesses do exactly that. Using high-performance architectural vinyl, we wrap everything from walls to worktops. The process is quick, clean and avoids the waste that comes with full replacement. Whether you are updating a reception area or revamping a set of office desks, vinyl wrapping provides flexibility, speed and a high-quality finish. But how far can it go, and is it something that can be done without expert help?
What can be wrapped?
Vinyl wrapping is far more adaptable than many people realise. It can be used across a wide variety of commercial settings and offers an efficient and attractive alternative to traditional refurbishment.
Walls and feature areas
Walls, particularly in hospitality and office settings, are a popular starting point. Wrapping allows you to apply textures, patterns or finishes that replicate natural materials such as wood, marble or stone, without the disruption of painting or building work.
Furniture & fixtures
Items such as desks, wardrobes, kitchen units, lockers, vanity units and cupboards can all be wrapped. In environments like gyms or student accommodation, where furniture can look tired before it becomes unusable, wrapping offers an immediate and sustainable refresh.
Doors
Doors are one of the most frequently used surfaces in any building and tend to show signs of wear quickly. Wrapping gives them a clean, professional finish that is durable and easy to maintain.
Reception desks and worktops
Reception areas are where first impressions are made. Wrapping a reception desk or counter surface can significantly improve the appearance of your space, in line with your brand or new design scheme, with little interruption to daily operations.
We have even wrapped bathroom sinks, as demonstrated in our recent work with Premier Inn….
Case Study: Premier Inn, Middlesborough
In Middlesbrough, Premier Inn wanted to update their hotel bathrooms. The sinks, inherited from a previous owner, were off-brand and no longer suited the refreshed rooms. Replacing them would have increased both cost and disruption.
Fusion proposed wrapping instead. After working with the client to select a marble-effect vinyl from the LX Hausys range, we completed the work in phases. Each sink was wrapped in approximately one hour, including the removal and reapplication of silicone.
The result was a far more modern and stylish bathroom. Rooms remained in use throughout the process, with only minimal downtime. The cost savings were considerable, and the feedback from the hotel manager was very positive. She commented that the wrap had “transformed the whole bathroom.”
Is professional installation necessary?
While wrapping may appear straightforward, achieving a high-quality and long-lasting finish requires expertise. Every stage, from preparing the surface to applying the film, must be carried out with care and precision.
At Fusion, we use architectural-grade vinyls that are made to last for several years. Our installers are experienced in applying wraps to a wide range of surfaces, including curved, textured and high-contact areas. A poor installation can result in peeling, bubbling or damage to the original surface, so choosing a skilled team makes a significant difference. We have that team!
