Liverpool Accommodation

The Brief
A student accommodation provider in Liverpool was eager to give 100 bedrooms a facelift without taking on the high costs and logistical headaches of removing and replacing their existing furniture. The project called for a more modern look in each room by revamping bathroom doors, desks, wardrobes, and bedside cabinets.

The Consultation
Since many rooms were still occupied, the client needed a solution that wouldn’t disrupt day-to-day life. They also wanted a colour scheme that would fit their refreshed interiors. After discussing options, they settled on a dark grey wood effect—an on-trend choice that would upgrade the overall look and feel of the space while still being quick and easy to install.
The Process
With 100 bedrooms to tackle, coordination was key. Our schedule needed to mesh with other contractors on-site, so we carefully planned each step. One installer could wrap the furniture in a single room in about half a day, meaning we could move efficiently from one room to the next without causing bottlenecks. By handling prep and wrap in a streamlined fashion, we kept the process smooth and unobtrusive.
The Transformation
To achieve the desired finish, we used LX Hausys architectural film with a textured wood grain. The upgrade from plain white laminate to a rich grey wood effect made an immediate impact. This new look not only modernised the rooms but added a more premium feel—perfect for attracting students seeking comfortable, stylish accommodation.
The Outcome
A simple yet significant change brought a fresh sense of style to what had been lackluster rooms. Photos taken before and after highlight just how dramatic the shift was: what used to be a row of bland, white surfaces is now a sleek and cohesive design that ties each room together. Thanks to architectural film, the furniture appears brand new.

Client Advantages
- No Skips Required: By keeping existing furniture, there was no need for large skips or extensive waste removal.
- Avoided Big Logistics: The work happened in-room, so there was no hauling bulky items through a small lift.
- Cost-Effective: Wrapping offered a cheaper alternative to complete furniture replacement.
- Environmentally Conscious: A huge volume of furniture was spared from going to landfill, aligning with current sustainability values.

Conclusion
This Liverpool project proves that with careful planning and quality materials, it’s entirely possible to give student rooms a stylish overhaul without the typical hassles of replacement. By opting for architectural wrapping, the accommodation provider kept costs down, minimised
